Join us on Thursday 1st June at TalkTalk's office (address above) for an interactive talk from Tom Gallacher (@tomgco)  from YLD! Tom is Node.js and Linux performance privateer, often seen happily writing code without any knowledge of his surroundings ;)

In this meetup...

ES5, ES6, ES7, ES2015, ES2016, ES2017 - This can get confusing right? What does Node.js support? How can I check? Do I have to use a transpiler?

Development in Node.js can be very confusing with the JavaScript language being updated every other month. This talk will explain how these new features come to be, what we can use today and how to use the latest things in production without risking the stability of your applications. Although this talk goes into details about the specific language features of JavaScript and Node.js we will also learn good development practices for rationalising our choices and how to apply them in production.

This will be an informal session please come prepared with questions and ready to get involved. As always, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and plenty of free pizza and beers!

The event will run as below...
