Come along and listen to Josh Payton, as he strips back the glitz and glamour of the 'sexy' clients and unearths the potential of some of the 'low interest' companies, where big change is still on the cards! We will also be joined by Daniel Pidcock of Just Eat, who will be exploring things from the inside out, looking at how in any organisation, the creative process should be inclusive of all, utilising the skills of your wider team in the change process, all through Design thinking. Finally we will be joined by Andy Ingle of Webcredible, who will be walking us through the Digital transformation process of his recent project with Age UK, both internally and externally. More to follow!!

With space for about 70, we would like to invite you straight from work for 6.30pm, to unwind with other UX and creative professionals at Huge's offices near Old Street roundabout. TALKS & DISCUSSIONS

Josh Payton, VP User Experience @ Huge

Discovering the beautiful opportunities in low interest categories

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas Edison said this over 100 years ago, but the sentiment remains true. The most interesting problems for user experience designers to solve today are in businesses that most would not consider “sexy.”

In his talk, Josh Payton VP User Experience Huge, will share highlights, insights and innovations from his experiences working with brands most designers would consider “low interest.” His talk will expand upon the idea that brands in these low interest categories are full of fascinating opportunities for innovation and disruption. Unlike popular brands that everyone knows, those in niche markets with esoteric problems are the ones who offer the most opportunity to innovate and make a difference. Josh will take us through a couple of case studies, where you will see first-hand the real delight of these complex brands.

As VP, User Experience at Huge, Josh oversees the creation and rapid prototyping of concepts, ecosystems and interfaces for the agency’s client base in the UK and across Europe. Having worked in Huge’s Brooklyn and Los Angeles offices, Josh moved to London four years ago, where his clients include Hublot, The Economist, Thomson Reuters, Enel, South West Trains and Credit Suisse.

A seasoned speaker, Josh has given talks at the IAB, HOW Design, Generate Conference and IxDA, and has served as a juror for the IAB Mixx Awards and The Net Awards. Josh also leads Huge School in London, the agency’s accelerated training programme for those who want to pursue a career in experience design.  Prior to joining Huge, Josh was the User Experience Design Lead for the home and storefront pages at Amazon.com and a Senior Designer for Microsoft, Washington Post/Newsweek Interactive and Yahoo News.

Daniel Pidcock, Global Lead UX for Android @ Just Eat

Everyone Should be a UX Designer

In an organisation, everyone influences the experience of a product. So why is it that engineers and developers are often excluded from the creative process? Daniel will tell you about his experiences in teaching his whole team Design Thinking, the benefits that have arose from doing so, and practical tips on how you can do the same with your team.

Daniel Pidcock leads the UX for Android at Just Eat, the worlds biggest food ecommerce. In the past he’s worked with several big brands, launched and sold a few start-ups, and ran a digital agency. He lives in Bristol with his fiancé and overly fluffy cat.

Andrew Ingle, Experience Director @ Webcredible

How to Transform a Charity for Digital Success

Age UK is the country's largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life with more than 7m people every year depending on them to provide companionship, advice and support.

But how can Age UK expand their already stretched service offering to accommodate an aging population and how can they ensure that they stay ahead of their audience’s ever-evolving digital skills?

In this talk, Andy will share some of the initiatives Webcredible are helping to put in place to change the way the organisation works using digital thinking and methods to improve efficiency and deliver a customer-centric service.

Andy is an award-winning digital leader with over 15 years experience in delivering engaging digital experiences rooted in practicality and simplicity; currently loving life at Webcredible in London, UK.

A curious mind; his career has been spent running design departments, developing digital products, leading digital transformation initiatives and creating strategies for digital success. Andy has been lucky enough to work with clients such as Age UK, Virgin Trains, Brompton, Confused.com, Hilton, Unilever, Purple Bricks and many, many more.
