TALKS & DISCUSSION

Jane Austin - Director of Product Design

Jane is an award-winning designer and has spoken and given keynotes at conferences all over the world. She loves building high performing design teams and helping make companies, big or small, more customer centred. She currently works as Director of Product Design at Babylon Health, whose mission is to put an accessible and affordable health service in the hands of every person on earth.

Prior to this she led the design team at MOO, grew the team at The Telegraph from one to twenty, at the same time as leading the redesign of the website and several apps, and has worked at GDS (home of gov.uk), in an online trading firm, in start-ups and in agencies.

Ben Sauer - Product Design Director: Conversational Design

Ben Sauer is Director of Conversation Design at Babylon Health, formerly of Clearleft. He's worked with organisations like the BBC, Pearson, Tesco, and TCS to raise their design game.

He’s been speaking about and training people on the topic of voice UI for several years; particularly in how to rapidly design conversational experiences. Teams at Amazon and the BBC use his methods, and through O'Reilly, he's trained folks at NASA.

Liam Carter-Hawkins - Product Designer

Prior to becoming a Product Designer at Babylon Health, Liam designed digital products for GE, ABB and DHL, spoke for Design Lab London, General Assembly and TEDx and graduated with a First Class Degree from Loughborough Design School.

In this talk, Liam will be discussing the first 90 days of designing for healthcare: Three reasons why you should think big when deciding what challenge to face next.

Anna Zawilska - User Researcher

Prior to being hired as the first User Researcher at Babylon Health, Anna worked at a number of London startups. Before that, she completed a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Oxford. Her passion is building tech products to solve fundamental human needs and create a more equal society.

In this talk, Anna will discuss some particular challenges and opportunities around doing User Research in healthcare and health-tech at a high growth environment like Babylon Health.
