Jonathan Corbett & Savvas Voudouris - UX Designer - NORMAN & SONS

Jonny Corbett and Savvas Voudouris are both partners at NORMAN & SONS, who design and build user-centred digital products for enterprises. Jonny is a UX Designer who has spent the last decade championing Design Thinking in some of the deepest, darkest parts of large financial services companies. Savvas is a data visualisation designer who has 10 years' experience using creative flair to help humans make informed decisions from complex data.

This talk will be a whirlwind tour of design trends for data-heavy organisations over the last decade; from the beautiful (but dumb) "visualise everything" approach to AI-led minimal interfaces which answer questions we didn't even know we needed to ask.

Adam West - Head of Marketing - Satalia

Adam is Head of Marketing at Satalia, one of Europe's fastest growing AI companies that combine machine learning and optimisation to solve efficiency problems for some of the world's best-known companies. Adam has recently keynoted for Google, GSK, Pearson, Orange, the House of Commons, CineEurope and ImpactAI - and recently won 'best speaker' when presenting his published paper on the impact of AI on branding in New York.

This talk will explore the future of AI and its ability, once harnessed, to make creative decisions. Using real-life examples and relatable anecdotes, Adam will first demystify the hype, and align audiences on what AI is, what it is not, and what impact it will have in on individuals, organisations, and society. It will also consider innovation in the context of AI, and questions whether typical organisational structures and process are setup to attract, retain and empower AI talent. Adam will also touch on AI applications both externally and within organisations, including how it's being used creatively, to decentralise decision making, and even set salaries.

Brent Palmer - Design Lead - Carwow

Brent is Design Lead at carwow, where he manages the car buying experience teams. He previously held similar roles at Zendesk, PayPal, TrendKite and Spredfast.

If collecting data is easier than ever and design tools are at their zenith, why is it so difficult to make smart product decisions? If big data is here to stay, where does regular research fit? Brent will explore how data teams and designers collaborate at carwow to unlock the best solutions. He'll also walk through how, when paired together, qualitative and quantitative insights can get everyone interested in user feedback.
