We are immensely proud to team up with Amazon and hold one of David Low's masterclasses in building Amazon Alexa skills.

In this evening with David Low, Amazon's Alexa Principal Evangelist, he will show the steps of the process from getting started, to creating an Alexa skill, through to submitting to the store.

These skills can be published to the Alexa App Store and used by millions of devices powered by Alexa.

Already, you can ask Alexa to hail you an Uber cab or order your favourite pizza from Just Eat.

During the evening, David will talk about why Amazon believes that voice is the future of user experience and provide an overview of the Alexa Engine. David will also demonstrate how to develop custom skills for Amazon Echo with the Alexa Software Development Kit (SDK) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Prerequisites:

• Bring a fully charged laptop;.

• Set up your, free, accounts on aws.amazon.com and developer.amazon.com

There will be only 45 places for this masterclass, but attendees must fulfil the above prerequisites.
                                                          ---
NB: To ensure everyone comes and no seats are wasted several confirmation emails will be sent over the next two weeks, please swiftly reply or you will be placed on the waiting list.

We are taking this approach to make certain spaces at this limited masterclass are not wasted (people booking a slot then not turning up on the evening).

There are only 45 slots for this masterclass. The first 45, who confirm, will be let through in each case.

Check your email regularly and reply with your MeetUp name too.

To go you need to confirm to each of the emails sent over the next two weeks. Each of them.

                                                          ---

If you can't attend please change your MeetUp RSVP.

Failure to do so (saying you're going then not turning up) will result in you being put on the waiting list for future key events.

                                                          ---

There will be an Amazon Alexa device or two in our regular free raffle :)

                                                        ---

At Linuxing in London we make an extra effort to ensure women and members of women’s groups can participate and equal out the gender imbalance in technology. Women should just sign up and stay on the waiting list, you will be let through.

                                                         ---

• Amazon has generously offered to provide refreshment on the evening.

                                                          ---

Important: for workshops and training events, the MeetUp bookings take precedence. Only those confirmed on MeetUp should attend.

Please sign up at Skills Matter as well.</a>
