Get an introduction to creating a Skill for Amazon Alexa and learn about the new frontier of Voice User Interfaces (VUI).
If you want to understand the process and how to get started then this is the event for you!
Join us for an evening with the Amazon Alexa Evangelist, Dean Bryen, who will show you the steps of the process from getting started, to creating a skill, through to submitting to the store.
These skills can be published to the Alexa App Store and used by millions of devices powered by Alexa. Already, you can ask Alexa to hail you an Uber cab or order your favourite pizza from Just Eat.
During this session, Dean will talk about why Amazon believes that voice is the future of user experience and provide an overview of the Alexa Engine. Dean will also demonstrate how to develop custom skills for Amazon Echo with the Alexa Software Development Kit (SDK) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
About Amazon Echo & Alexa
Amazon Echo is the world's most successful AI-powered speaker. Alexa is the voice service that powers the Amazon Echo and Alexa apps. The Alexa Voice Service provides capabilities, or skills, that enable users to interact with apps using their voice. Examples of these skills include the ability to play music, answer general questions, set an alarm, provide information on the weather and more.
