Due to the popularity of Data Science Festival events, we are now allocating event tickets via a random ballot. Registering here enters you into the ticket ballot for the Data Science Festival Event at Deliveroo on April 18th 2018, the ballot will be drawn on the 16th April 2018. Those randomly selected will then be e-mailed tickets for the event, with the joining details.
If you get an allocated ticket, please bring a copy of your paper ticket or your ticket on your phone to the event to check in with your QR code. Tickets are non-transferable.
The Data Science Festival is the first of its kind as the only community led, free to attend Data Science Festival in the UK.

Talk 1: Jonathan Magnusson & Jamie Edgecombe - Experiment Design with small sample sizes to deliver meals at scale.
Abstract: How do you deal with small sample sizes at scale? In this talk we will learn how Deliveroo use experiments with small sample sizes to efficiently deliver meals at scale!
Bio: Jonathan Magnusson is the Analytics Manager for the Delivery & Restaurant business groups at Deliveroo, he previously led Analytics at King to improve the Candy Crush games.
Bio: Jamie Edgecombe is a Senior Data Scientist at Deliveroo.
Talk 2: Antony Phillips - Machine Learning and Optimisation Algorithms at Deliveroo
Abstract: Numerous algorithms are critical to the success and continued growth of Deliveroo. This talk will touch on some of the ways Data Scientists at Deliveroo utilise these techniques to efficiently operate a global food delivery network.
Bio: Antony Phillips is a Senior Data Scientist in the Logistics Algorithms team at Deliveroo.
Talk 3: Valentina Bono - Solving parking problems with Deep Learning.
Abstract: Parkopedia allows drivers to find the closest parking to their destination, its cost and whether the space is available. The talk will show two examples on how Deep Learning Networks can be applied to extend parking coverage and improve availability prediction models.
Bio: Valentina Bono PhD is a Data Scientist (Computer Vision) at Parkopedia; the world's leading parking service provider. Parkopedia provides information on over 60 million parking spaces in 75 countries and can be accessed online, as a mobile app or inside the car navigation systems of some of the world's most recognized car brands. Based out of Parkopedia's London, UK, office, Valentina's work includes automatically processing satellite and street images to help identify parking restrictions and signs. Valentina joined Parkopedia's research team in 2017 and holds a Master’s Degree in Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering and a Ph.D.in Computer Science (Biomedical Signal processing).
