DJUGL - Django User Group London
After such a successful event in June Djugl is back for its third outing of the year. Djugl is returning to the great space at Potato, a London based digital agency.
There will still be the usual pizza and beer provided by Austin Fraser while everyone catches up before the Lightning talks at around 8pm.
Each talk be 5-10 minutes long
A Q&A will take place after each talk
"HTTP: History and performance" - Ana currently works as a Senior Backend Engineer at Verve and has given talks at DjangoCon Europe / US, some PyCons, and Django Under the Hood, among others. She is a seasoned Pythonista and she co-organises PyLadies London meetup.
"London-school TDD" - David is the head of engineering at Octopus Energy, a new energy supplier for the UK. He is interested in the craft of writing high-quality, maintainable software.
"How we cheated to get mobile apps" - This will cover Django/VueJS and how we made the mobile apps quickly.
"Re-imagining StreamField's UI for Wagtail 2.0" - "Wagtail, the CMS built on Django, is re-imagining the design of their modular content system StreamField ahead of the release of Wagtail 2.0. Edd, a multi-disciplinary senior PM at Potato, has been part of the team designing and building the new UI through sprints in Iceland, Holland and the UK over 2017."
"Using Docker Compose to make your Django stack ready for scale in the cloud" - Joseph has 8 years of Python development experience and about 5 years of Django. He started out at a well known British telco, finishing his apprenticeship there. Then moved into Formula 1, where he spent nearly 7 years developing software to help the team’s car go faster. He now works at Univa, where they make tools to help you manage your workloads and infrastructure.
